Wynston is a Karajarri man from the west Kimberley region of Western Australia, where he has spent most of his life growing up on Country. He is a former ranger for the Karajarri people and is an Australian public servant in the Commonwealth Government.
Through his extensive experience working on Country, Wynston is a member of the Bush Heritage Australia Aboriginal Engagement Committee and has been involved in NIAA’s Indigenous Rangers Independent Reference Group (IRIRG) as the elected youth observer. He is passionate about preserving country, maintaining culture, and most importantly supporting and looking after young people.
